During the the last period, there is no doubt that the Arab Republic of Egypt made large strides in all fields and achieved great strategic goals in the political, economical, and developmental areas, this way very important for the progress of our society.
Based on the instruction of Mr. President Hosni Mubarak and his understandable policy concerning the importance of getting out the investment from the narrow valley to the new land in order to develop Upper Egypt .
 

In 1984, Arab Swiss Engineering Co. (ASEC) made researches and tests concerning cement raw material and found very high quality lime stones and clay sand in the area of Valley Sondos, that is 20 Km from Qeft city using its human and material resources, the product will cover the needs of governorates of South Upper Egypt .

The plant area was virgin and there were no signs of any infrastructure or logistic. The company made all the preparation needed for the establishment of the plant. Power house of 75 Mega Fed by two transmission lines, water supply gathered in a 5000 m3 tank, main roads, reclamation of the site, 20 thousand mazot tanks, planting thousands of trees.. etc. The main Contractor (F.L Smidth) completed the plant in proper time according to the contract, and finally the people of Qena has something valuable to be proud of.
Misr Cement Company was crystallized as one of the most important civilized plants in Egypt during the last decade .
